Carpal ‎Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most commonly diagnosed and treated entrapment neuropathy( a group of disorders of the peripheral nerves that are characterized by pain and/or loss of function (motor and/or sensory) of the nerves as a result of chronic compression.) Clinical picture :  Symptoms :  1- Clinical diagnosis is the corner stone in CTS diagnosis.   2- The syndrome is characterized by pain, paresthesia, in the median nerve distribution of the hand (in the thumb and fingers, in particular the index and middle fingers and radial half of the ring finger)especially at night and weakness in thenar muscles. Signs : 1. Phalen's maneuver: It is performed by flexing the wrist gently as far as possible, then holding this position and awaiting symptoms.
